The Bridge Elucidates SFDA Regulations to Support New Importers

At this year’s Saudi Food Show, we had the opportunity to deliver a highly relevant presentation on the strict product registration regulations of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA). With significant experience in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, The Bridge provided valuable insight to current and future luxury importers.

The presentation held by Milos Savicevic reflected his long expertise and proficiency with the registration procedures of the SFDA. In his speech, Milos explained the whole process essential for the import of products in the kingdom. Through this crucial knowledge, each attending supplier representative moved one step closer to delivering their gourmet products to the connoisseurs of Saudi Arabia. 

As an organisation responsible for protecting the community through regulations and effective controls to ensure the safety of imported products, the SFDA has established firm rules and procedures which are often challenging for international suppliers. The journey of each product that enters the kingdom from its origin country goes through several crucial steps which Milos addressed in great detail. With the assistance of Joud Albaheli from The Bridge’s SFDA department, he discussed the focal points of the registration requirements with graphic examples of necessary artwork, barcode information and transportation packaging. Our visitors learned everything they needed to know about information mandatory on Arabic labels and important details on unique designs. Varied requirements for specific industries were another key topic of the presentation. With this initiative, Milos showcased our strong determination to assist our partners in every aspect of our business and maintain the high-quality standards of our food.
